*** This Week Through Your M4/3 2017.01.07 ***

Well 1/640 is not over 1/1000 ;) and the shot is good for me at this kind of resolution.

Did you try the e-shutter? It seems to me that the moon does not have enough DR to worry about 10 or 12 bits so I always do it with e-shutter.

Thanks tt321, yes it's all about the lighting; when the sun went behind a cloud, there was no picture.

Well captured. Well framed.

You captured the feel of the place, for me.

Hi all, i've purchased my em5 II in may 2016 with the 12-40 and the "plastic" 40-150 and this is my fist post here (but i've read you guys soooo much).

i've just returned from my first trip of this... emm... last year and i've finally had some time to spend with my new gear (love it btw). last time i've used a dslr it was a minolta film manual dslr in the late 90s, so be gentle with me.

Pictures above are jpgs ooc uploaded and modified with google foto for mobile/backup use, so please don't pixel peep and may be oversaturated and with low level of detail.

i have to start using lightroom/photoshop, but i think i have to work on composition and technique first.

40-150 is cheap but very tiny and had some fun shooting with it, it's also so light

coudn't see those birds with the naked eye

another clichè shot sorry ;)

first time using an ND filter. (ND10)

loved the light/shadows on that building

love the colours, dirt/bubbles not so much

heavy crop from a 40mp hi-res shot, i've got to fix that post processing.

Happy new year Wormy. I read your replies to other comments and was surprised that a real person was inside the space suit. I thought perhaps some American accomplishment was being celebrated. ;-)

Well spotted and well prepared.

So much to learn, so little time left to do it! :D

Nice series of shots. I like to visit gardens also when I travel. Maybe it's a stereotype, but I often see stone lanterns in Japanese gardens (located outside Japan). Were there any stone lanterns in these gardens?

Some good humour in this.

Nice.

How do you know it was shutter shock? Did you try electronic shutter?

The first is very interesting. Looks like a shipwreck, but that can't be right.

The color shots seem to have a strong magenta tint, but maybe that's just my monitor.

Love the wide shots of the hillside. The snow is perfect for that scene.

These are a bit cluttered but I do like them, they have a nice fresh-air feel and good light. Yes - I feel I might veer down the Panny route, disappointed in the price of the EM1-2 and it'll be a long wait until the EM5-3.

Well it's a very impressive debut. I like the smoke in the first. And I've seen those pillars in #2 before but not from that angle. I like the yellow light in-between.

#3 is nice and sharp / contrasty.

Nice colours in #7 and I like the reflected steel cables in the water.

But all have something to commend.

Welcome aboard, stay awhile and don't forget to comment on others posts*, regardless of your experience.

*particularly mine ;-)

This is a fine, fine shot - what a poser!

Besides telephoto shots, I still use my Oly gear for snowy shots using flash.
