My husband surprised me with a Sony AX 53. My current camera is a Sony HDR SR 11 which I got the year it came out, 2008. It was one of the first consumer HD cameras. I LOVE it.
What I mostly record is my daughter's dance recitals and show choir. So indoor, action, onstage, poor lighting. I like to sit in the first row of the mezzanine to avoid heads in my way and zoom in on her. I like being able to snap pictures while I record. I also use the software that came with my camera to take screenshots after, to capture the leaps at their highest point.
I do digital scrapbooking, so I like to crop but the finished photo is usually smaller than 4x6.
So here's my dilemma: the new camera won't capture photos while recording if it's in the best quality setting. But I feel like if I shoot in a lower setting, I might as well have kept my current camera. Do I shoot 4k at 100 and use the screen capture software after? Or shoot 4k 60 so I can still use the dual photo capture feature?
Thanks for sticking with me this far! I have other questions, but I'll save them for later.
