Oooops! I forgot my two week rule for the first thread. There goes my first resolution: to be absolutely perfect this year. Oh well. Sorry for that. Better luck in 2018!

I guess I could delete all of this but that would be too much work and I want to keep my second resolution: to do as little as possible so as not to risk resolution #1.

So, here is the first full POTW thread of 2018! If anyone has any complaints about this host error, please call Mako directly at his cell: 555-NOT-HOME. There is an answering machine but the mailbox is always full.

I have had little time to shoot so not much to work with. I decided to go graphic. Maybe I can turn it into Bradbury wallpaper one day and get rich.

Hey Guys, I haven't been out much in the last couple of weeks, so this is the best i've got. It's a typical Yorkshire scene of sun blushed rolling hills, adorned by grazing sheep. It's a lovely part of the world. I hope you enjoy! (PS... Brev00.. Sorry for my flippant disregard for the rule of thirds in the last POTW)

Will, I absolutely LOVE this composition and the colours are so great! Reminds me of one of our favourite British TV series, Heartbeat. Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Rudy

Thanks Rudy! I quite liked the contrast of the deforested wasteland and little forestry track curving down towards the bottom of the valley, so I included it :). You're dead right about Heartbeat... this is around 6 or 7 miles from Goathland (Aidensfield in Heartbeat).

Many thanks,

Will

I wanted to share another picture from the same trip to Philly but it was past the due date. And, if I don't follow the rules, who will? So, instead of an upwards view of the Franklin Hotel, you get an upward view of the building across Chestnut Street, the Second Bank:

The final sunset of 2016.

The Great Orion Nebula - M42
The Great Orion Nebula - M42

Here is another processed version of the Great Orion Nebula found in the southern skies at this time of year. Total exposure time was 8.5 minutes with my Nikon D7200 and Nikon 300/f4 ED lens. Nebulae are amazing celestial structures where new stars are born (as opposed to Hollywood).

Cheers,
Rudy
