I went straight for the book ....couldn't help myself. Although I must say, the photographer did not seem to intent on capturing every title (grin).

There was one on Dancing mate, only $3

the Time Life books, my dad had the photography series, very beautiful books but more value than content. Granted, very technical and I suppose they would appeal to a dpr member in the open forum but they are on the table because the owner's photography never improved. I bet the owner held onto them for a very long time, and gave up trying to be a good photographer, or maybe just owning the books was supposed to do it. (grin)

The little nude is an interesting pose, not a valuable piece but I think it could be. I don't mean a million dollars but it could be $150au if it was sold the right way.

What I should tell you is to keep your eye out for 'photomatics'
I have a very special collection.

I like the idea that a person in a booth can become art, it is a selfie and yet it isnt and I have some that are precious.

The man is interesting, a genuine treasure hunter that can nearly always afford what he finds.

The books, you know its funny, Street Photographers lament that there is no financial value in Street Photography ...and then they don't buy books ...lol

I go mad for stalls like these ...you would need to start photographing me from down the street as I make a bee-line for the pretty things ...and the books.

I have so many now I need a library. We have been looking at units that have their own sliding ladders ...as a complete room. I used to play in a room like that when I was a child, would be nice to go back to being irresponsible again but without the nappies.

Thanks for my pressie Sam, I searched the entire table (lol)

… I have been debating whether to post this image or not. Because of the similarity with Sam’s shot I’ve decided to do it here (the similarity is only on the theme, definitely not on the quality or merit of the composition).

Ant. Sorry that many of the books are not in English, and that their titles--certainly those of the books inside the store--are slightly out of focus (I dialed the focus on the face of the window-shopper). I guess that all that you can rescue out of this shot being posted is something that you already know: many people value what you do for this forum.

That's an unusual book browsing outfit.
hehehe ...Valkommen to Sweden
My eye is drawn to the fashion photos showing the legs and shoes at the top of the window. Sneakers and books at this store?:-)
Paul McCartney posters Steve, the window theme is music.

A bookstore in Sweden is special, Sweden is very high art. I am a huge fan of Swedish film and I believe I have a number of Swedish authors.

The pants and waistcoat are an acquired taste though. I wonder if Benedictus's legs are as pretty.
Do you like Bergman films Ant? I saw Wild Strawberries for the first tme several weeks ago and loved it. Beautiful cinematography, moving film!
Do you remember the opening scene when he is lost in a dream, I do that. I am always lost and becoming more lost as I think my car is parked over there, or is it in that direction. Some urgency comes with it and increases, and I will remember that my cameras and lenses are sitting on the front passenger seat and in full view and I was only supposed to have been gone a minute.
Is always a city that I think is Spain with lots of red and orange browns like clay and I am lost and my alarm increases as my searching makes me more tangled. I still admire the shapes and colours in the streets and so I dont remember them as landmarks but do remember them again later but from a different direction and am made more lost by te confusion. Once I give up finding my way and accept me camera and gear is gone, I meet lots of people and I am accepted and surrounded by them but then their motives become apparent and sinister and I am the outsider. You want the freedom to be as you are but then you need to be on guard ...so you can never be yourself and free.

Wild Strawberries is a stunning film, I haven't seen it for ages, am having a day cooking, so I think I will watch it and my simmering pot of Malaysian Satay.

I love holidays, this one is nearly over.

Nice movie suggestion Steve, off to watch it now.

Enjoy Ant, it is a film with vivid images and memories, looking back on one's life, reliving the sweet moments as well as the disappointments and bad decisions, trying to make sense of it all.

a bit sideways but the essayists always end up on the topic of death in photography, I don't agree with them at all and think that they wrote too much in the twilight of late evenings ..and didn't drink enough rum.

Photography, especially Street Photography is about life and there are no decisions to regret except for a less than healthy lunch

...so many regretful lunches (grin)

Beautiful scene. The colours contrasting with the ice. I’ve opened the image in “original size” and looked at many of the faces. There is so much joy. You feel good looking at this image.

Love the sharpness in the way that you captured the faces, how they are all indifferent and oblivious of each other, yet share the same instant. Very nice.

The attractiveness to me is in the multiple layers and the way that each person is in its own layer, unobstructed by the others. I really enjoy looking at this kind of photo.

Would be perfect it we could see the leftmost person whole.

For our American friends, 47.7C is... 117.9F. It's really insanely hot these days and I now live inside air conditioned rooms and work only to pay the electricity bill, lol. It's hard to take photos when you're sweating profusely after the first three steps.

Thanks for the kind words, Ant. Pedro is 7 months old today and had great fun dressed by his mom in a ninja turtle onesie.

This is clever ...quite amazing really, easily an instant favourite. I dont think I will ever stop being amazed at how things can come together ...and in that particular way of the photographer.

This is absolutely your photograph ...a photograph of you like a selfie.

me too ...

Oh I so disagree Andre, you should look at it differently as a lesson, the balance, the pairing with the man in the background, any more and it would change the composition and feeling, is done so perfectly that I am amazed. It ends the photo on the left, it keeps the eye in the center, is so clever.
Is funny, I wrote in my reply to it (and then deleted) that I thought it was funny, that others would want her cropped ...and yet she is the anchor for all of it. On the right, the woman's luggage mirrors the left, neither left or right of any interfering effect except to frame the center and the entire photograph. The organic nature of it is what makes me laugh ...so naturally perfect. Steve is naturally expert at these edges, one of his gifts.

Cover the woman on the left with your hand Andre, have a look ..do it as a lesson ...she is an echo.

I wouldn't want her cropped, as the image would be unbalanced... but I'd like to see a bit more of her, maybe just part of the face or even an arm in a way that's more distinguishable from the rest of the body.

Anyway, that's over analyzing a really minor thing, the image is already great as is.

Steve, I like this image, which could be a companion to your Rockefeller Center ice pic, with the white BG and people going in different directions. It's especially interesting to me as I recently posted a different take, a photo from the same room, at the Arbus exhibit.

One nitpick, the guy in the back seems to have a halo around his head and shoulders. Was this done on purpose?

The dog looks terribly sad. Hope he/she is ok. Him? If I was on US soil I would plead the 5th.
