So after years of camera envy I've finally gone and spent all my money on a brand shiny new X-T2 and 16-55 2.8.

I've taken it out twice in the last week to get to grips with the basics and I already really like it.

Here are some photos from some local beauty spots (Warwickshire, UK):

All except for two of them are SOOC.

I ended up chatting to the two elderly ladies who it turned out took regular trips to see the oak trees throughout the year in the different season, then later on bumped into another Fuji user who seemed very interested in the X-T2.

Nice photos - I looked at the ones on Flickr as well. Not that it makes any difference, but the big tree in the middle of the 2nd pic is a horse chestnut, not an oak..... Kudos to the quality of the lens that the fallen leaves are sharp enough to make the 'diagnosis'!

I'm also reliably informed that the strange bumps are ant hills, so probably not a god idea to sit on one while you're eating your sandwiches.

Haha, well spotted, they probably did tell me it was a horse chestnut actually, but I remember phasing out at one point in a daydream about what other photos I wanted to take (they refused a portrait shot sadly). And yes, they did mention the ant hills too. Weirdly I've not seen one ant there, not even in summer.

Second shot - maybe. First shot - Wow, did your hand slip on the sat slider? My eyes! :)

I just reframed the original which I agree has some terrific color and below is amore "peaceful" version ..

but anyway the exposure was not optimal and working with the JPEG resembles somehow to Impossible Mission,

The point was about framing

That was my last shot of the day as my battery had died several shots earlier but I was managing to get one shot back after switching off for a few seconds, switching on and then quickly taking the photo. ideally I'd have got closer and framed it without the panic a one shot thumble entails, but I was quite keen to get the dog looking towards the camera before he decided to move!

I wads just playing with files since this one is really inspiring me despite obvious difficulties

BTW with the Fuji bodoes you do need spar batt in your pockets :-)

Cheers

Bob
