Hi All:

Looking at some threads in the Internet I noticed great concern about lack of mounting options for the Sony FDR-x3000. I like to dismiss that idea as it is very easy to accomodate GoPro large and vast accessories to the Sony. One of the very earlier modifications I did to the Sony was to drill the botton of the Plastic Grip (optional) to fit to the 1/4 inch screw on the botton of the camera and that will open a whole variety of mounting options to use the remote and other mounts available at Amazon. You have to dig a little but some that come to mind are Fotasy, Action Mount Universal, Drift GoPro Mount Adapter and many others just do a search for GoPro mount accessories and spend some time looking.

You will also see a modification the I did using a bike handle bar grip that fits a cylindrical RavPower Power bank 3200mAh that allow to power the Sony for a large extended period of time up to many hours and also serves a a pistol grip, also an easy modification for the 3 way GpPro handle that also has a tripod. Use your imagination the opportunities are endless and the prices are cheap.

Hope You enjoy and get some ideas to share. More Sony Action cam videos to come. This camera makes an excellent travel camera if you hate logging and packing equipment.

Thank You,

Luis

That long, cylindrical battery pack is interesting. I wonder if they make one that would fit into the GoPro 3-way extension's handle?

Thx for posting all those photos. My K-Edge adapter should arrive this week so I'll be able to try out my X3000 on my various GoPro mounts.

No, I tried it already and does not fit, the bike handle is wider to fit the cylinder, it would have been ideal if it would fit the 3 way GoPro.

Thanks

Luis

Hi Luidoly,

Here's what I'm struggling horribly with to find a mount.

Need the camera to be up front and most importantly it needs to be able to be adjusted to straighten and level the shot. Here's my temp solution.

Sorry about the photo orientation.
