Need help: Aperture control problems

I need some help:

On my 85GM, I can't change the aperture via the dial while in Aperture Priority Mode. I can change the aperture via the aperture ring on the lens, but not on the camera via the dial.

However, if I switch to my Zony 35mm lens, I have no problem using the on-camera dial to change the aperture of my lens while in Aperture priority mode.

How do I fix this issue so I can change the aperture on my 85GM lens via the dial?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Camera is A7R2

maybe clean the contacts on your 85mm GM?

Do you have the aperture ring on the lens set to the 'A' position when you're trying to change the aperture from the camera?

Do you have the aperture ring on the lens set to the 'A' position when you're trying to change the aperture from the camera?
