Well it looks like the A6500 is rumoured to be announced:

IBIS is reportedly included.

I wonder if the A6300 price will drop?

My guess is due to the increased size and weight the next Sony ASPC camera that has IBIS is most likely called be A7000.
My guess is, A7000 will be full frame sensor in A6300 style body but without IBIS.

a6500? Not soon. Probably after announcement of a6100.

Why would Sony do this? They would p*ss off a6300 buyers because the price would drop, or the a6500 would need to be even more expensive which does not make sense since Sony has not released any high grade APS-C lenses in a long time.

Would be a very strange strategy, unless they release it with a new improved kitlens like a 16-55/2.8-4 and maybe also announce some new APS-C wide angle and tele zooms. But this is not gonna happen.

My money is on a RX100V and a Sony A7III.

I bought an A6300 for the pretty steep European price when it came out. But I am not p*ssed, Hans. A camera is electronic equipment, not an investment for funds. You buy it, take many nice pictures with it and some day, when you want to upgrade, you might sell it again, not? Electronic equipment has price drops, that's life. And upgrading requires that there is a newer model.

In opposite, I am happy that Sony apparently keeps supporting and further developing APS-C. I love the system and if they add IBIS to the already fantastic sensor, it is again market leading.

If true this model should have two dials and a dedicated EV comp dial. Touch screen and a larger body. IBIS with better heat management for 4K videos. Will be priced around $1500-1700. Sony wants to get into this price segment like the D500 and XT2. A new sensor will be the surprise. Expect BSI tech with a bump in MP.

Let's hope so, but even the site says it is all rumor

How I feel also. I will never understand when people get "pi$$ed off" when a manufacturer releases a new product, even if it is not that long after a previous release. The new product doesn't make what you have any less useful and it obviously had enough features for you to buy it in the first place.

Hope A6500 has more controls then A6300 which is really poor, like Fuji cams... at least with back and front dial + dedicated exposure compensation weel.

it's remind me the roumur around the a6300 (then called a7000)

there where many Rumors 1.5 years before the announces of the a6300

about a wonderful camera with touch sceen and ibis that will cost only 800$

in the end we get the a6300 (which is a wonderful camera, but much less from the Rumors)

also i don't believe sony will announce a substitute to the a6300 so soon.

Yes but did they ever reach SR5 status? A6500 is coming now, I just got off a conference call with Sony board members.
