I own an X-pro2 and i always shoot in Raw+Jpeg writing Raw on slot 1 and Jpeg to slot2..

it's a nice way to have fast writing times and a backup to a second card if something go wrong.

my problem: i would like to playback from the second slot (jpeg), to have a bigger enlargement when checking focus, but switching to slot2 only work till i take a new shot

in fact, taking a new photo revert the playback back to slot1 again.

really annoying.

any solutions?

have your camera write to JPG in slot 1 and RAF in slot 2

It's not possible (at least i cant fint how). And only slot 1 support uhs-ii cards, allowing for faster writing, better using raw files

With the X-T2, you can press the playback button until the playback from slot 1 pops up, when you press the playback button again, it will switch playback to slot two.

On page 39 of the X-Pro2 manual:

If two memory cards are inserted, you can press and hold the a button to choose a card for playback.

You can also select a card using the <Playback> PLAYBACK MENU > SWITCH SLOT option (P 102).

Yes. I know. But take a new shot and playback will revert to card 1.
I don't have an X-Pro2 but on my X-T2, I have the playback set to Slot 2. I've tried to turn off the camera, shoot multiple shots, just about anything I could think of and when I press the playback button, it always displays the image in the card in Slot 2. May with the coming firmware improvement coming this year, that will change the behavior of the X-Pro2 also. I think the manual goes through the steps you have to perform to get the camera to playback from slot 2 permanently.

yes, hope so.. actually taking a new shot or switching off the camera, revert to slot1...

just updated to V 2.0

the bug is still there..

but at least, finally wifi connection works a lot better with my android smartphone

slot 1 raw & slot 2 jpeg.

I had to switch to slot 2 for wifi connection, since raw doesnt work with camera remote app. When i use slot 1 and connect, it just says no file to transfer.

I can confirm whenever a new photo is taken, the default is switch to slot 1 for display. If I need to transfer the pic, I will have to switch to slot 2.

The bug (and that is what it is) is still there at software 3.00 on my X Pro2. It is both odd and irritating – odd in that if I select slot two by pressing the playback button and then switch off and back on it will still be slot 2 even when different frames are selected but if I take a shot subsequent to playback it reverts to slot 1. From what Cliff Fuji said this is different from X T2 - I have looked through the X T2 manual (and for that matter version 3.00 of X Pro2) and can see no specific instruction as how to set it to just playback slot 2. Having been through the bugs in an early X100 find these issues tedious.

... use the 2 cards in backup mode and save RAWs as well as JPGs to both cards?

(I know this wasn't your question but you mentioned it yourself regarding the backup ;-) )

Also related: when you create new JPEGs on camera they go on slot 1, when they would be best on slot 2 with the others. I gave up and use sequential now mostly. The RAW-1 JPEG-2 functionality is not well thought through, in my opinion.

I have the same issues as you on my X-T2, settings remain if turning it off/on but as soon as you take a shot it reverts to Slot 1 for playback (very annoying). Ive just sent Fuji tech support an email so will see what they say. Seems a user here with the X-T2 has it operating correctly so hopefully there is a fix for it!
