I like this statements:I hadn't read anything directly from the Sigma subsidiary until now:

This could have been a solid article, but all the factual errors? Like not getting the DPQ's focal lengths consistent and correct is just sloppy.I hadn't read anything directly from the Sigma subsidiary until now:

One of the issues could be terminology. Making a sensor, that is having a full-blown fab, vs. designing a sensor is vastly different. Samsung makes the processor chips that go into a lot of Samsung and Apple phones, yet all of those processors start with an ARM designed processor. ARM doesn't make the processor, Samsung does that. So, maybe he is taking some liberties with phrases (after all he does press tours), while still being accurate. It's hard to believe how much inaccuracy there is in that article. For example . . .
"'There are only four companies in the world who can do this, Canon, Sony, Fuji, and us.'" - That would lead one to believe that Kodak, Samsung, and Toshiba can't make sensors and that Foveon actually makes their own sensors, when the truth is they subcontract that to a chip manufacturer in South Korea.
