The YN560 is a manual-only flash, with no TTL. It's very tall and top-heavy, even on a smaller DSLR. It also has tilt but no swivel. It's great for off-camera manual flash work, but although you certainly can make it work mounted on the hot-shoe, that's more of a desperation move.my next purchase I'd like to get a on camera flash, that I can also trigger as an off camera flash (ie speedlights). Several pros, like Zack Arias, have recommended the Yongnuo YN560IV Speedlight. Do you concur?
I don't use much flash, but from what I've read on the forums, a lot of people like Nissin for on-camera flash. Of course, for your X-T2, the new Fujifilm EX-500 should be considered.
Something else to keep in mind is HSS (high speed sync) for use in bright daylight. I don't personally know what the current state of HSS is in Fuji-land, but I'm pretty sure that the YN560 can't do HSS when mounted on the hot-shoe (I think it needs a Yongnuo remote trigger for that), and I know that the EX-500 can do HSS when paired with the X-T2.
