I have been trying to find a solid wireless remote shutter for my A7Rii. I purchased the sony brand one but it doesn't perform very well. It has no range and even at close distances I end up pressing it several times before it even triggers the camera to snap a pic.

Looking primarily for a shutter release that can be of use from a distance. For example setting up a tripod and taking a self portraits 30+ yards out. My current setup wouldn't dream of working from that distance.

Anyone found one that has some good range? I had one (can't remember the brand name) for my Canon 5d, that seemed to work a full football field away....

Thanks for any help!

I have used Yongnuo triggers to actuate a shutter from 300 feet without issues. Very reliable. I have done this on my canons many times. I do believe I have done it on my Sony's as well. It's been a bit. Here is my setup on a canon.

Thanks, I will check it out for sure!

If you have a smart phone, Sony has an ap that will do the trick. I've used it on my NEX 6 and assume it will work on my A7. Downloadable from their playmemories site.
