It’s time for some B&W images from my recent trip to Hamburg.

There’s some interesting new architecture at the harbour. And there are old metro stations.

B&W treatment of this subject is very appropriate. Nice work.

Thanks, guys!

I love B&W and love to work with the tonality to get the expression I want. Even small changes make a difference for the image.

Nice work, Seedeich. You seem to have an eye for how things will look in mono. Were they processed in camera or PP later?

Great images....

Thanks, Tom :-)

I've shot for years B&W film when I started with photography. So I’m trained to visualize the image in B&W before I shoot.

But today I shoot everything in RAW, which gives me total freedom to decide afterwards how to process the image.

And some images work equally well in B&W and colour.

Beautiful images Seedeich! I've been playing around with LX100s B&W' using DxO presets as a starting point. Keeping Bothe the RAW color, and the B&W helps me see how to PP for the best effects!

Warmest regards,

Go for it! It’s also good to compare the colour and B&W and how colours translate to mono with different treatments. DxO has probably also colour filter effects and colour sensitivity sliders.

Nicely done! Very interesting series of Hamburg.

Very nice!

Is there any chance you will give the Reeperbahn your special treatment, Seedeich?

Tom

I like your images of St Pauli, Seedeich.
