Last week I took a hiking trip up to Zion Park in Utah. I took my big camera but used the rx100iii almost exclusively, only used the big one for a shot at Horseshoe Bend on my way home. The little camera braved dust, boulders, and rivers with the only issue being the lens covers sticking when turning on. That's always been a problem for me but nothing a good finger flick wont fix. Still very happy with this little camera, looking forward to many happy years together.

rx100iii took a beating going up and down this scary stuff at Angels Landing, has some good dings around the lens trim now.

Nice shots, Nos. 1 & 3 are my favorites.

All nice shots. My favorite is the first one from the narrows. If you feel like doing a little processing on that one, you may have an award winning image.

Thanks, post processing is something I only have basic knowledge of. I can play with sliders and do some basic fixes but never know where to go beyond that.

Here I warmed it up a little. It could probably use a crop or replace that blown out sky but I'm not really sure what's best from here.

Very nice series! Wish I had been with you!

Very nice set of shots.

I like your narrows shot a lot. I shot that bridge on film with a stereo camera in 1984. It was not a crowded place at all.

Thanks for the nice trip, it is very effective to have people in the photos to give scale to the spaces.

I like the combo of the condor in the larger view. Technically, when viewing the original, it is not so good, not sure why, the camera can do much better than that.

What settings/methods are you using?

Thanks for the comments.

I've been working really hard to start including people in some of my shots because it really does give scale. In the past I always tried to avoid people in my nature/landscape shots so this is new for me.

I really like the condor shot myself, but managed to only take one snap and I missed. I think it was motion blur as I wasn't ready with the camera with it came in to view.

Here is a critter I didn't have that issue with

For these images I was shooting raw in manual mode. Usually exposing low especially in the Narrows trying to reduce how bad the sky would blow out. Ultimately I still have a whole bunch of images with blown out sky :)

Awesome pics! I'm taking a trip out there in a few months and can't wait!
Thanks, you'll have a great time! It was really hot when I went, should be very nice in a few months.
