Purple haze in photo corners?

So I shot this long exposure on a Sony A7ii with a Zeiss Batis 25mm f2. Settings used: ISO, 3200 f2 30sec exposure. When I bring up the shadows in lightroom, I get this weird purple noise in the photo.

I keep finding conflicting information online about what this coloring is and how to avoid it. Anyone also experience this / have any suggestions?

It's sensor noise and it's been discussed here before. If it's really bothersome, you may want to enable long-exposure NR or take a dark exposure and subtract manually.

it's likely a vignetting correction that amplifies the noise. The lens has some 2.5 stops falloff at the corners, so the ISO at the corners in your case is about 18000, thus a lot of noise.
I don't think so:

(1) It doesn't have the shape of vignetting correction, mostly along the bottom and left edge.

(2) It occurs even if you do a dark exposure without a lens attached.

I don't know how you did your experiments. My experiments clearly show the vignetting correction increasing the noise as expected when using the native lenses, and there is an even noise over all the frame when using manual lenses.

Hi,

I think this is "amp glow". Turn on long exposure noise reduction to fix it, or do it by hand with dark frame subtraction.

Yeah, purple glow is usually a heat issue, used to be awful with long exposures on my A55. A7 not so bad I find, but ambient temperature may make it worse.

I have faced this issue often when shooting very dark images or with the lens cap on. Long exposure noise reduction does a great job eliminating this. However if you are say shooting star trails then take a black frame and substitute the noise

This video explains it:

native lens, vignetting correction increases noise outside of the center

manual lens Konica 50/1.7 @ f/2, no vignetting correction, even noise distribution
