question got posted by mistake before i could finish. Like many people I have camera lust and what is I won the lottery etc. For some reason there seems to be not much talk good or bad on this D5. Just wondered if it was so expensive to limit discussion or just a lack of interest. Maybe i should lust something else like Rachel Welch.

You're welcome, Frank.

Unfortunately I am away from my primary computer so I can't tell you exactly what I did in post processing, but I'm fairly certain I applied no noise processing at all. I find that at 100 ISO the D5 needs no noise processing (as long as you're not pushing 5 stops of exposure, that is).

My guess is because it is a $6,500 camera. That limits it to largely pro's, who are busy making a living with it, and not posting on forums like us amateurs. 😊
I'm a recovering alcoholic (going on 16 years) who took my former booze and cigarette money and buy camera equipment, including the D5 and use it as a volunteer photographer for various charities, school and Church for their events. I'm also retired after 40 years in nuclear power.

Somehow, the words "alcoholic" and "in nuclear power" don't sit well together. Can't think why.
