Thanks for the advice - yes, it was on the flower. I haven't calibrated this lens yet.you may need to calibrate the focus, on the bottom picture with the blue flower the camera focused in front of it. I am assuming you were focusing on the flower?
Try adding a +5 AF fine tune adjustment and retake the pic (if that was your focus point?)
try a +5 and post up the resultsThanks for the advice - yes, it was on the flower. I haven't calibrated this lens yet.you may need to calibrate the focus, on the bottom picture with the blue flower the camera focused in front of it. I am assuming you were focusing on the flower?

If you get "noticeably worst" just by changing value to +/-1 there is something wrong. You should barely see difference at something +/-3 but not "noticeably worst".Well, I bow to the superior eyeballs of the group here ...
While I didn't need a +5 adjustment, I did a +1 on the very close and very far focus ranges on the TAP-In console (Tamron has 3 "zones" to make adjustments)
I figured that I should try a +1 in the middle zone, but the results were noticeably worse, so it went back to +0
So for mine, the formula is +1, +0, +1
Thanks for making me take a really good hard look!

It seems to me that OP is checking focus in low light but the last shot is with a flash so that is why it is better in focus.

You mean the other way around? Last shot is at F3.5 so should open up to F1.8.also too wide an aperture, should stop it down to F1.8 and see where the focus is. yes always do focus testing in good light you never get good results in low lightIt seems to me that OP is checking focus in low light but the last shot is with a flash so that is why it is better in focus.

The pics were taken at +1![]()
