My new Canon G3 pictures

hello karen
I guess you're trying to tell me that i'm not an ugly guy!!
Is that true? eheh

look, i really don't like very much to photograph myself, i think i'm not very photogenic. Usually any picture looks better without me.
I don't know why...
but i have to live with that
in any case, there are more pictures, but i don't want to ruin my site...

thank's for the post
good luck for you

Hi Edda
thank's for the post!
Look, the G3 is a very simple camera.

G3's combination of control buttons, and dials may seem a little complicated at first glance, but once you become familiar with all the features, you will found the user interface to be very intuitive.
Ergonomic is the word!

thanks again and good work with your new G3
then let us see your pictures

bye

Pedro,

I just bought the Canon G3 yesterday. It is a fantastic camera..although I am still learning all the features.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed looking at the photos on your website. They are incredibly good. I especially like the picture of the butterfly and grasshopper. Stunning detail !

How long have you had your G3 and how long did it take you to learn all the features ?

Amber

Hi Amber
Thank's a lot

I also love my G3 too. What a excelent range of features,
and it is a user-friendly digital camera.

I have it for 8 weeks and in the first moment i had it in my hands i knew we would have some nice moments. The menus are very intuive and logical, so there's really no big learning curve. We always learn with experience, but you can't be blind for more than one day.

thank's a lot for your post and
good luck for your pictures with your G3

Pedro,

Greetings from Lisbon. Very nice pictures, clean, detailed and good composition overall. As I am b&w freak, I have paid special attention to your bw shoots and I have to say that the train railroad is my favorite. Keep on with the good work.
Cheers

Well, after having a second look at your site I would dare to point out that your architecture theme photographs are missing a bit of soul, sort of speak. Then those I would not like so much.

Pedro,

Do you know if I can get a good deal on a Canon G3 in some store here in Portugal, at this moment?

Antonio

Hi Pedro,

I sent you another note but I don't think it went through.

I am wondering what settings you used for your close up shots like the grasshopper and the butterfly ?

They are amazing !
I also have a G3 but have not yet learnt all the features on it.

Amber

I Amber
i'm sorry for the delay

I used normal settings as in those ocasions i had just a few seconds to prepare myself.

Usually for macro shots i select "Portrait" or "Program" (for less DOF) and Macro. If I want better DOF i use "AV" and select f-stop 8 . As i've read in this forum, 5.6 might be enough, I have to try.

Thanks for your post and for your kind words

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for the settings info. I had thought it was probably the portrait mode you used but was not sure about the f stop and so forth. I have always had point and shoot cameras before this G3 so never really learnt how aperture and shutter speeds etc worked. I have not yet used the macro mode but am going to the gardens this week (we have some fantastic gardens locally) to practice using all the different settings on the G3 and try to learn more about light adjustments.

I just love the shots you have displayed on your website...particularly the animal ones and the close ups. Many of them are just incredible - to me anyway.

Please keep posting new photos on your site - I enjoy looking at them !
I also like to see the potential that this camera has.

Amber

Hi Amber
Once again thank's a lot for your comments.

Sometimes i see other sites and i think what am i doing here. There are outstanding pictures out there.
But words like yours give me strength to continue
Thank's again.

I'm not a pro and i don't know much about photography, but with the help of fantastic forums like this one we can learn a lot with those who know much more than us.
If i can help someone, believe me that i'll be happy.

Hey, you're a lucky guy!
Good luck for your photography session.
I'm sure you will learn a lot.

Thank's again and whenever you need someting
if i can help, i'd love to

I just bought the G3. It is a fantastic camera. I admit that I was a little overwhelmed when I first started to use it (I just bought it a few days ago) but am taking tons of pictures, experimenting with the different settings and having fun. The cool thing about digital cameras is that you can take tons of photos free of charge but I would recommend buying a larger memory card at the same time so it doesn't fill up too quickly.

The G3 is set up very logically and is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it.

If you have done alot of photography before - it would be much easier to use the manual settings as you would understand aperture, shutter speed, lighting, etc etc.

I never really understood all of that before so I got a couple of books out of the library to help me understand it better but the manual should get you off to a pretty good start.

I would LOVE to see some pictures of Iceland when you get your camera !!! Please send us a few :-)

Good luck with your camera purchase. I think you really will enjoy the G3 !
