Anyone with 24-120vr problems send it into nikon for repair

good news, any problems concerning sharpness with the 24-120vr can be repaired.Just send the lens back to nikon and they will repair it.I just got mine back and it is like a different lens.The auto focus was adjusted and it is much sharper. I lost the lens for 5 days,I know, you should not have to send in a new lens for repair ! Well at lest it is repairable,and nikon knows the problem.So pack it up, and send it back......frank d

I'm planning on ordering the 24-120 at the end of the month...does anyone think that problems with this lens would still be there by the time I order it or do you think Nikon will have fixed these problems before shipping them out??? I've heard of some kind of focusing problem on the right side and I wonder if Nikon has fixed this and if they are shipping out fixed lenses and if there might be a serial # list to avoid.

I sent my 24-120vr to Nikon in Melville to fix the soft right-side problem and when it returned, the soft right-side problem was still present. They did a number of tests - one on resolution - and everything checked out fine.

My conclusion: Nikon's criteria for 24-120vr resolution is not very high and one can expect the soft right-side to be considered within normal specifications for this lens.

Dissapointed by the test results, I sold my lens at a loss.

sorry to hear that John,mine was soft at 24mm and it was repaired....frank
