I got this lens hood in from Amazon recently and it is superb. I just bought another one as I'm using the Xume filter attachment system and I just leave one of these hoods on both the UV filter and the CPL filter and switch out the whole assembly. Heck of a deal at $12.75 versus $172.00. Very well made. Nice finish and clean threads. Comes with a cap for the hood too.

Nice, bought something basically equal for my RX1.

Guess the Sony's original one will be remembered as one of the worst rip-off in photographic history.. :P

I've used a straightforward collapsible rubber hood from Hoya since buying my RX1r last fall. I've had no problems with it at all and it tucks away really neatly. $20 or less...

If I use this hood, will I still be able use a UV filter ? Thanks.

Likewise, except mine is made by Heliopan. I tried a version of the OEM hood but prefer the collapsible rubber hood. One big advantage of the rubber hood is that it provides a large, flexible cushion against bumps to the lens.
