Nikon D750 Lenses? Converters?

Hey people,

I'm upgrading my Sony Alpha camera to a full frame and I am thinking of jumping ship to Nikon. I'm leaning towards a D750 for its low light capability but I'm stuck with lenses. I'm looking for something in the 18 - 70 mm range, F2.8 full frame lens. Mainly I do gig photography so having a wide open lens is a must. Just not sure where to go with this. Alternatively, I do have a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 lens with an a-mount so I was wondering if there was any decent converters out there? Plus I don't think that's a full frame lens although I know the Nikon version is a FX mount.
Any help would be appreciated as I'm starting to get some pretty big gig offers and desperately need to upgrade.

Cheers,

Ben

What focal length do you find yourself using most at your gigs? Take a look through your pics' EXIF data.

It might be that a simple prime would be ideal. Maybe a 35 or 50mm?

If you can get it in a kit, I wouldn't pass up the 24-120/f4 for that camera. With the full frame sensor and f/4, you'll do find at high sensitivity settings. Coming from a smaller sensor, you might be surprised at what you can get away with at high ISO in a full frame Nikon.

(the gigs I'm thinking of here are small open mic rock band type stuff in bars, so my recommendations might be off-base)

I was thinking of using a 50mm prime on my sony still as a second body as that's what I tend to use most at gigs, but that was only due to it being a f1.8. Some venues photo pits are so close to the stage with very little room that you find a 50mm too restricting. I'll have a think about the f4. Thank you.
