I am organising a photography trip to West Sichuan, Yading and Juijaigou of China this coming Oct. Our travel guide is YAT (Your Adventure Travel) company of China and they speak english. This is a 14-day trip and it covers the most photogenic spots of China. The cost of the trip is roughly RMB15,000 ( around USD2,300) and you need to buy your own air ticket to and flo Chengdu. Anyone interested please kindly let me know.

and unlimited mineral water is provided. Transport is by aircon chartered tour bus. Entrance tickets to photographic sites are also included. Entrance ticket to cultural shows are excluded. The final charges could be lower or higher depending on the number of partcipants. We need 18 heads to make up the group. Majority of travellers come from Malaysia. We already have about 10 people.

and lodging is basic but with hot/cold aircon, hot water and clean. Most of the lodging are medium size homestay as the places we visit are rural. This is a must trip if your focus is scenic appreciation and photography. I am not a promoter. I speak as an end user and this is the best value trip if you want the real experience in China.

I'll throw you a bone Mr Lim... :)

I am very glad when I see a tour providing homestay accomodation, as these not only support local communities but also provide a far richer cultural experience for the tourist.

The Kham Tibetan culture of West Sichuan is amazing, Yading is especially beautiful - I imagine even more so in Autumn (Fall) - and the Malaysian people have a cracking sense of humour so you'll be in great company.

I'd most definitely join you if I could afford it !

This sounds like fun.

Help me with my airfare search. From the United States, would you prefer to arrive in Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong? I assume I would fly from my arrival city to Chengdu?

Thank you.

Direct flight? - Chengdu is massive, perhaps bigger than HK, with a major international airport.

Wherever you fly in, do give yourself time to acclimatise. The combination of jetlag with that exhaustive itinerary and altitude sickness would be most unpleasant.

Hi,

I am interested in this trip. I have pm you.

Thanks,

I am back from the China trip for about 2 weeks now and I must say it is a wonderful trip and I most probably see the best of China as far as sceneries and tibetian cultures is concerned. I have 2 DPReview members NS Ng (Singapore) and John Tait (USA) joint me. Next year we are planning for the Inner Mongolia/Xian and Kashgar/Xinjiang trips. Below are some of the shots taken during my recent trip to Daocheng-Yading (Sichuan Shangrila) and Juizhaigou of China.

Hi

I like what you are doing with your trips to China - seeing the remote life and beauty , as shown in your photos. I am sorry I only caught up with what you are doing today. I will send you a message so that I could consider any future trips you are doing - how they might fit into what else I have on. You might have too many people soon!!

Cheers

Ray

We can have multiple groups of 20 people. In China nothing is too big. You have to visit China soon as there are many highways replacing the off beaten tracks. It is the off beaten track that give you the opportunity to see the real China.
