Skinfiner 2 now supports batch skin smoothing

Thanks for the pointer. I have the old version (1.4) which I like very much. The new version (2.0) is said to retain more skin details. Have you compared results obtained with both versions ? I'm trying to determine if I should upgrade. I don't need batch processing.
Skinfiner is my favorite skin retouching tool and is the fastest way I've ever known to smooth skin without losing texture. I'm very glad its new version now supports batch processing.

From their webpage, Claude:

"Purchased users will get all major and minor updates for free without time limit".

So I did and it tell me that I a have the home license. So now I have version 2.0 instead of the 1.4 for free. Great.

Hi Claude, because the upgrade is free, I just overinstalled it without comparing. I didn't feel there are any significant differences between these two versions. Maybe there are some minor improvements. But I found the smooth result without skin mask also quite well. Anyway, for me it's as good as before.

This is the result with smooth amount 65:

Thanks Nand. I had completely forgotten upgrades were free. I just downloaded the current version. Thanks again.

Thanks fazapan. I agree with you, at that price comparing the 2 versions is probably not worthwhile... ;-) Cheers.

Other than maybe opening an eye a little, I try not to change the facial structure when using Portrait Pro. Sometimes the results of changing structure are stunning, but pretty much renders the person unrecognizable.

Portrait Studio is fantastic but its easy to get carried away as you can see by your example.
As I have been using it more, I keep trying to make the enhancements more subtle (well each situation is different of course). The presets are pretty strong in my opinion so they work as a base to then start tuning things down a bit. At least that is how I have been using it mostly.

I normally take a while working on this but just wanted to provide a quick example

Not sure what the point is to show off Portrait Pro in a SkinFiner threat without showing the result done with SkinFiner. So here is one done in SkinFiner.

Plugins are practical but I think a human can do better.

I'm sure do it manually can get the best result but also time consuming. For me, I don't like to retouch portraits too much, I just want them look healthier but still themselves. So I prefer those quick tools like Portraiture and Skinfiner.

Here is one in skinfiner, just with 5 seconds.

I am seriously considering skinfiner as well now. Not as a replacement for Portrait Pro but from some testing, in some cases using it for skin only and PP for the other parts gives me a better result than with either one alone.
Can never have enough tools that help you speed up workflow. :)

Hi,

This is why I post a picture worked in Portrait Pro Studio, in few second and not well because I like compare Skinfiner, Portrait and some other software, and may be why not buy something else

When it comes to portraits, I prefer doing the work manually. Not that I have anything against plugins, especially for speeding up workflow, bu I just enjoy manually retouching portraits. Here is my result with the image posted below:
