Wow - when do you sleep?
I usually get through 150 shots on an 8 hour assignment - then
there's my own stuff at weekends (evenings are spent getting the
day's work to clients) - so I probably take around 42k per year.
Film used to be around 50k per year, but digital means I save
£15,000 every year even though I did my own processing & printing!)

--that was from last weekend ... 3000 pics
around 1400 on the website
when I do a sports carneval I shoot around 3-4K a day
lots of series ...
eg. ralley australia last year
; http://www.perthdigital.com/ralaus_s1_2.html
6K images in 3 days .. was the first sports stuff
I have done with the S2 .. now in September
its on again .. this time I now the camera
even better and I tell you .. It will tick like a
clockwork)
for me digital is a new media .. I never shot film
a lot .. hate it .. just boring stuff for me ...
have only done film for hobby ..
now I do commercial stuff for catalogues (own businesses)
built a studio and now start to do 3D object movies ...
I currently shoot jewellery 300 pieces .. I experiment a lot
so I end up shooting 300 images on a evening just experimenting
with light ...
A wedding shoot is 1200 - 1500 images with 600-800 ending
up on a slide show ... I have done a couple ..
so its not even that much in my opinion .. and I would
never compare it with film ...
When I reshoot one of our fashion catalogues for next year
I estimate around 5-6K images and thats 2-3 days with models
a bit more than I had last time 2 catalogues at 28 pages
150 different styles around 20-30 pics each and thats not
even a lot .. I expect 80-100 this year for the 3D ones ..
so it adds up ..) not counting the pics when I take the S2
out on a tour ...
Have fun

--Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it - but I need my sleep!
Maybe I should get stocked up on 'Pro-Plus' again...
At least you are testimony to the robustness of the S2. Why not
get in touch with one of our photo mags as a long term test? Maybe
Fuji will supply you with a new piece of kit? Then again - the
cheapscates don't even supply the RAW EX software.... Ho Hum...

Got to say your shots are great! Dis you use the S2 for the Rally
Cars? I have a commission coming up to do similar shots in England
(I bet the weather isn't as kind!)
Never had a problem when I shot with a Pentax SFX - just pre-focus
and as soon as a car came into shot (focussed) the shutter would
fire. Automatic or what? Doesn't seem to do that, the S2 so Iit
looks as though I will have to work after all!

--nah I am doing much more than just photografie ...
that doesnt fill my day) or night ..
)
and sleep ... well .. yeah .. 5-6 hours is fine for me
S2 was back at service 3 times .. Fuji is due
to come next week for another firewire mystery
and for sports .. well S2 is just not quick enough)
and the D2H has not enough resolution ... so
I do hope for a D2X with true 10-12MP and 4f/s
that will be fun ... and Ill do 150K a year ... lol
Have fun
