that title, Ambassador. :-)

Impressions seem consistent with others. I'm also impressed at how the belly dancer is able to balance a tray of candles on her head.

Image quality looks good in these shots, but image size is small too.

As a sports shooter, the tremendous autofocus capability of the D5 has made it worth every penny. I bought the camera primarily for improved low-light ISO performance. It has delivered on that front as well. I just wasn't prepared for the scale of the leap forward in AF. Couldn't be happier with the camera.

Comments such as yours are what has gotten my attention about the D5, since its release. A number of photographers have commented on the D5 AF being significantly improved in comparison to the D4. Speaking as an interested observer - I've not used either body - my understanding is the D4 is considered to have very good to excellent AF.

In any event, I'm very interested to see a real world AF performance comparison between the D5 and 1DXII: quickness of initial acquisition, ability to accurately track a moving subject, and ability to acquire and hold focus in challenging lighting environments.

This pro's impressions and images tell me more than most "reviews." I foresee the probable acquisition of at least one D5 (perhaps, D5s) in my future; two if my wife wants one, for the low-light AF capability, and is willing to tolerate the mass and size. (She is not the junior partner, but the mentor who introduced me to SLR shooting.)

Well, unfortunately I see the same ugly skintones from Expeed 5 as Nikon did with Expeed 4. I will keep watching and if it's the case - I am staying with d3s/D4 (not d4s)

Those colors we the reason of picking Nikon when switching from film to digital many years ago... Now looks like they are gone...

Interesting that Cliff talks about the remarkable autofocus capabilities of the D5 and yet chose to illustrate his blog with photos that could have as easily been taken with the D3 camera or a D610.

There is a common disconnect in posts such as this where individuals will state that a camera has certain capabilities and then chose images or test subjects or scenes that are not appropriate, as with high ISO shots of a white bride in a white dress where no camera produced in the past 15 years would have a problem providing a clean image.
