Color Temperature?

The difference between the D100 and S2 is likened to D100=accurate
colors vs. S2=the colors you remember. Most people prefer the S2
for that reason, as I recall.
This is true and I'm not sayin the S2 has bad colors. Actually it is one of the reasons why I bought it. I found the greenish tendence only in some situations, it is annoying though since they are very popular situations (afternoon, strong sun).

Yes, I called the preset "fine weather" since this is how Fuji calls it in the EFIX data.

by the way .. my exposidsc makes better wb than any gray/white
card .. I also tend to get a little green on the gray card ...
its the reflections on the card .. not as neutral as expo disc ..
For sure you have all the methods here :-) Only problem I bought the S2 in order to avoid PS workflow....

My gray card works pretty well though. It is so dark that very little reflection is there if any. I have here 3 examples showing also what I mean by lost of the "sunset colors"

The first one is auto WB, the second is corrected in PS, the 3rd is taken with the grey card. All of them were taken in less than 1 minute around 7pm yesterday.

Original:

Corrected in PS:

Custom preset with Kodak greycard:

I like the one corrected in PS since it preserve the sunset light. Last one has perfect colors but they are 10am colors, not 7pm.

For sure Fuji should have done a better job with the WB though. I know fuji is much better than others with artificial light but this greenish photos in a summer afternoon are really no good.

Jacques,
Why writing in Dutch?
Why am I less upset than I should be when someone says these things to me?

I have tried to help other people by confirming they are not the only ones having this problem (again just my opinion).

I don't pretend to be a top photographer (I have another carreer that takes up a lot of my time). And fortunately, liking a photo or not is personal, so even if you don't appreciate them, maybe others do.

So, I leave it up to others to judge, but I won't feel offended if anyone said they don't like my photographs. I would feel concerned though if noone liked at least some of my pictures.

Hi Jos,

DSLRs. I think it is typical for S2 using auto-WB on sunny days.
I'm convincing myself that it is very typical although I got photos done in the morning and they were OK with a colder light.
I agree that with custom WB, this can be avoided.
Yes, the problem though is that light become very neutral and can't tell the difference from a photo done in the morning and one done at the sunset (see my examples above)
I have also seen once an ICC profile that corrected this, but that
introduced some other problems in my opinion.
Where did you see them, how to use them? The camera has no uploadable curve (quite laughable for a "pro" camera, I don't know how they came up with the pro thing)

This profile is not for use in the camera, it can only be used in ICC aware software in postprocessing.
I am not using it anymore.
