I posted photos of this old truck I took back in the winter in another forum but need some more input. I shot the same truck today and can't decide which photo I like best. Both were adjusted using HDR presets and some adjustments. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The dry dead grass fits the feeling of the old rusty truck and dilapidated building more than green grass.

Looks just like an old truck we used to have on the dairy. I, too, think it's too

flat, but the grass goes with it better. I played with it, don't exactly remember what

I went through, but came up with this. gc

The First one is better, hope you don't mind, made a few adjustments.

The second removes some of the sky and adds foreground which only distracts from the main subjects and pushes the truck and barn further back, making them less important, it also removes the sky that was adding a calm sense to the scene.

I like your version. The second one had more foreground because the sky was just flat gray.

I like your first image; I think the muted colours suit the subject matter quite well, and the composition is better than the second photo. In the second photo, the green grass and blue sky detract from the truck and building. If you're wanting to add some depth to the first image (though I'm not convinced that it's necessary), you could try a subtle warming of the foreground, and cooling the building and sky slightly. Perhaps a bit more sharpening on the truck (particularly the front of the truck) and less on the building/background would enhance the depth as well.

And lose the power line and whatever else that is (bright object) to the left of the building.

Glad you like. In Lightzone I applied the Tone Mapper style, and tweaked colors with Hue Saturation. Moved the file to PS Elements. Darkened the image with Levels (mid and left sliders). Tweaked colors some more. Fixed some local details here and there (removed white lines top of barn and truck, desaturated some colors, removed trailer left of barn, etc.). That's basically it.
