Nikon D5 versus D810 - Northrup's review

Not always.

He has connections for Sony pre-released stuff but not for Nikon or Fuji - not sure about Canon.

When the D5 and D500 were announced - he was one of the first ones to do a one of those "paper spec " video reviews. He wasn't even at CES like some other reviewers who actually got to handle a sample camera for their video reviews.

These days its anything for a click.
LOL!

Yea, a root canal without anesthesia is better than the angry birds idiot.....

He is ultra negative, but his name for this board "diaper and pee review" had me in stitches.
I never disputed his wit. But he would claim the sun rises in the west if it would get him more clicks. He is on my never visit list along with KRockwell and others. Just my opinion, nothing more.

At least Tony reviews what he has in his hand while KR reviews stuff he doesn't have. Tony is not controversial like KR. Sometimes Tony is wrong on some minor details, KR is wrong on major details.

I was really disappointed in Northrup's video, he's turning into another Ken Rockwell for me.

It's as if he's feeding into what his viewers want to hear (people whom want to learn photography, like me) that they don't need to to feel bad about not being able to afford the D5. and it worked! In the comments a dude said his glad his D7200 has better IQ than the D5.

He started with the Low ISO thing, any "pro" would lol on this, its like saying the Nissan GT-R has small rear seats. and treated it as NEWS ... as if the D4(s) didn't have less DR than the D8x0 in low ISO's -_-, simply because as stated here, its a hot topic on forums.

He totally dropped the ball on the cropping part, where he showed a washed out image with "less quality" than the D7200! I couldn't believe how blatantly he stated that.

Obviously when you shoot with a something like a 70-300mm (like what his audience would) will get less reach and need to crop more aggressively. But would a guy in the market for D5 would shoot with the same glass as D7200? regardless of how fantastic the D7200 is for wild life and the fact that you can get awesome shots with 70-300VR, but in real world, where financials are involved, a magazine would buy a pro a D5, get him the media pass to the Olympics, along with 400mm and 600mm primes. some dude mentioned this in the comments (about buying a McLaren and using cheap tires one it)

But,What ever, the pro target audience for the D5 know their tool, they don't even watch Northrup in the 1st place.

TL;DR:

I will keep my BSR filter on High mode for this dude from now on (BSR: B.S. Reduction)

You do realise that applying a BSR filter only affects JPEGS? When you import, the B.S. will still be there.
