Hi. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate subcategory for this question.
Inspired by this weeks edition of Amateur Photography magazine and its array of articles on second-hand gear, I was impulsed to purchase a Sigma 28mm f2.8 Mini Wide II macro lens for not much money on a famous internet auction site. I don't know why, but something made me think it was a M42 lens or something (I am new to photography, and very new to third party lens).
However, on closer inspection, the seller did mention that "This was being used on a Praktica B200 35mm film camera (also being sold, see other listings). The B200 camera body has a bayonet mount (44.4mm bearing diameter, 48 mm ID) according to the manual. A Praktica web site on google says Praktica-B-mount with EDC (electronic diaphragm control). I don't know which other cameras it will fit."
I can wait until the lens arrives (hopefully in the next few days) to clarify any more details, plus take some photos of the lens itself, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on a suitable adapter to allow me to use this lens on my current Nikon D5300. If anyone knows of an adaptor that will work, I can order it now so that it turns up not long after the lens. I have googled for bayonet B mounts and variations of to now avail up to yet, but I am sure there must be something out there.
I am aware that autofocus etc. probably won't work, which is fine, as currently I manual focus when taking attempted close-up/macro-style images anyway and I intend to continue to do so.
Thank you.
