I just ordered a S 10 from topchoice and am paying an extra $90 for the battery pak. Just read Phil's review which claims the battery pak is included in the box, while Jeff's review calls it an option. Who is correct here? Chuck, are you listening/

Hi John,
Good choice on the camera, have you read todays review yet?

It all depends in which area you buy the camera I think.
The one on http://www.henrys.com/ does.

Most people have got in thrown in for free (whole package for $675 - correct me if I'm wrong guys and gals cos I'm off to the US on Saturday to get one (still no distrubitors contacted me yet about this - any of them reading ???)

As far as I'm concerned the Canon warrenty won't cover you much if you drop it or abuse it (especially outside your "service region" and your house insurance should :-) (check b4 purchace)
And my pal TV will happilly talk NTSC too.
This is a cunning step by Canon almost worthy of Mr B Gates himself...

Quick one to Chuck - is the 110 charger multi voltage or do I have to get a little adapter to run the US or Canadian versions in the UK on 240Vac?

For sure the one from http://www.henreys.com includes it.

and egghead aparently have the extra cells for $25 - bargin if you ask me most want $40 plus.

ANYONE GOT ANY MORE BUYING TIPS FOR US VISITORS - PLEASE POST THEM :-)

Many thanks you lot :)

John,

The kits sold in Canada have the battery and charger included. Apparently the US kits don't. Maybe the Asian kits have it included also. I think it depends on region.

multi voltage and multi frequency. (US 110v 60Hz UK 240v 50Hz) you may need a plug adapter though

Thanks David,

Can you list the spec on the data plate on the bottom of the charger for us to clear the mud ?

Here is a quick tale, I purchaced a rechargeable shaver a month ago and it's has the most informative data plate I've ever see it says something along the lines of

"6V - 300V AC or DC" (and it lasts for about as long as the S10 with the LCD lit grin )

DK-110 includes CA-PS100 Charger/Adapter, Battery Pack NB-5H and DR-100A DC Coupler (for powering the camera directly). Specs for the CA-PS100:

Input 100V-240V AC 50/60HZ
25VA(100V)-34VA(240V) (CAMERA)
14VA(100V)-19VA(240V) (BATTERY)

Output: 6.5V DC1.5A (CAMERA)
7.2V DC 0.65A (BATTERY)

The unit is an adapter AND a charger, but not concurrently.

The unit sold in the US (and North America??) comes with the US-style 2-prong (flat) plug.

Egghead.com sells them for USD 67 (Search for "canon power") -- not affiliated with them.

Hi, John:

As others have mentioned, the DK110 Power Supply Kit is included with the PowerShot S10 in some areas, but not in others. I don't have a complete listing of the configurations for every country, but I can verify that the rechargeable accessories are supplied with S10 cameras sold in Canada, and optional for S10 cameras sold in the United States.

Hi, Chris:

The S10's charger is a multi-voltage device as you've already been told.
