Reply from my recent contact with DxO

Now waiting for that important email.......................?! :-|

That's the stock standard, boilerplate, essentially automatic reply you always get in response to such an enquiry. You have to hassle them a little bit more to get something more personal, and specific ;)
Have to agree with you 100% my friend!! Perhaps this forum/thread is the loudest voice we have. If only someone there were to read it, and If they could just translate everything into French!!!! Not likely, I Know:-(.

Warmest regards,

I've been in contact further with DxO, following an email received offering a 40% reduction, as follows:

'Sadly your "Spring Sale" offer won't tempt me until you decide to support my camera
(Panasonic FZ330). As you continue to postpone it's support, without any
explanation, whilst provising support for more recently introduced
cameras, the Canon M10 being a case in point, I don't see my way to
trying your product.

I am not alone in my frustration as you would see if you looked at the
various posts on the Dpreview Panasonic Forum (
http://www.dpreview.com/forums/1033).'

Thank you for your inquiry.

We unfortunately do not have any information regarding the Panasonic FZ330 camera at this time.

As you may know, we are constantly updating our database with new modules. At this time, however, there are no guarantees as to which or when modules will be added.

In case you haven't already done so, what we would suggest is that you go to our module request page at:

http://www.dxo.com/intl/photo/support/modules/availability/pb_availability

and add your camera and lens to our database. The first 4 lines have pre-set camera bodies. For other cameras, the second set of 4 lines are freeform.

We take this database into consideration in our planning. However, given our limited resources, we rely on several criteria to determine our priorities for creating new modules including popularity of the camera and lens, the amount of correction possible, etc.

We also recommend that you monitor our website, as well as emails, on a regular basis. As new modules are added, they will be posted as soon as they are available for download.

Enjoy your day.

Further response:

'Bonjour Roger Parry,

Nous aimerions savoir ce que vous pensez de notre service clientèle. Nous vous remercions de répondre à une simple question en cliquant sur l’un des liens ci-dessous :

Good, I'm satisfied

Bad, I'm unsatisfied
'

They can't even be bothered to reply in English despite doing so in earlier emails. You can guess my response. I'm sorry this is a rather long post but I thought other members would be interested in seeing the level of response that DxO give. Maybe if this thread keeps highlighting their appalling level of customer service they might take notice and do something about it.

Just noticed that the release date for the FZ300/330 has slipped a further month to July!!

Agree Roger! It's probably the best we can do. They might get the message?

Warmest regards,

I've never used those features Ken but perhaps some day I will, Glad to know you're happy with it.

I like my copy for it's reach when I want it!!!!

Warmest regards,

Thanks Jim

Just an update. Received this from DxO today.

'Hello Mr. Parry,

The report that we received today from the Camera Planning Laboratory for OpticsPro addressing the Panasonic Lumix FZ300/330.

The reported stated that this Brand & Model is "scheduled" for support starting in June of 2016.

I will let you know if this date changes.

Note the word 'starting'!!
Herman (who's presumably German or French) may have simply meant 'from June 2016'.

I w2as reviewing the FZ200 Tips and Tricks thread and ran across this - you may want to check it out if/when the FZ300 ever see DxO support:

FWIW, if you set iResolution to Zoom, the camera will crop the RAW output at zoom>24x, so you can see a larger (more cropped) image in the finder. The RAW is still of the same quality, however some programs (DXO) won't recognize it as valid. The Adobe product seem to handle them ok.

I've actually relearned a few tips reviewing that old thread!
