so I was using my 7D II yesterday and wanted to post a few images to my social media through mobile Lightroom when I remembered the 7D II does have wifi (I'm used to my 6D). Apple offers a lighting card reader but it doesn't work with their phones... What's the best solution to be able to get images onto the phone from the 7D II?

get an eyefi card, they are very cheap. i think an 8gb one is something like 30 bucks - pop it in the second slot, copy jpegs you want to upload onto it from the camera menu then turn on the transfer in the camera menu.

The lightning reader does work with iPhones now. I think it was an IOS update last December that enabled this.

Sounds like a neat idea, and I have been playing with my 7D2 and would like to know what can be done with an eyefi card. All of my shots on my CF card are RAW. I would like to be able to crop an image, and transfer it to the SD card in slot #2 as a JPEG. I figured how to convert a RAW image to JPEG and copy it from the CF card to the SD card. However, I can't find a way to crop the image before or after converting and transferring the image. The only cropping I have seen is when connected to a printer. Is there a crop function I can do on either a RAW or JPEG in the camera?

Thanks,

No in camera cropping function on the 7D2 unfortunately (except for live view). You'd need to crop after it hit your phone
