I am doing my homework on the type of camera I am going to buy looking at all the pros and cons of the Canon G5 and Nikon 5700.i keep coming accross this " purple fringing " problem that the G5 seems to have. Any opinions?

No digicam (expect a Foveron) is exempt from fringing (CA), but the
G3 is much better about it, compared to the G5. In addition lower
MP cameras often operate faster and have better ISO performance.
If you offered a S40 (4MP) as a replacement to my S30 (3MP), I'd
tell you to take a hike.
