You would be out of your mind to spend that much money on a one way trip into a dead end.Adorama - $1049, body only.
B&H - $1199 with the 16-50 PZ f3.5 PZ lens.
Not really, not unless one plans to run the system to the ground for the next 5-10 years, then you can take it down as an expense just like one would on a laptop/imac that becomes obsolete later. You would be out of your mind to spend that much money on a one way trip into a dead end.Adorama - $1049, body only.

Nothing more to say;
Regretfully.
I love my NX500 for its portability and IQ. I ordered the 50-150 S lens for a pano project. Now, I am thinking that once the NX drops to say $799 body only, that with a discounted 16-50 S lens might be just right for a video project later in the year. Not really, not unless one plans to run the system to the ground for the next 5-10 years, then you can take it down as an expense just like one would on a laptop/imac that becomes obsolete later. You would be out of your mind to spend that much money on a one way trip into a dead end.Adorama - $1049, body only.

I actually want an NX1, but the price would have to be even lower for me to gamble. Love my cheap sony lenses but want the NX1 sensor / video...You would be out of your mind to spend that much money on a one way trip into a dead end.Adorama - $1049, body only.

I think it will be tough to do, it's a tough little one. few moving parts you know, when the shutter dies 2035 you can use electronical shutter until 2070 or so, but I don't see into future.I'm in for the firesale on the NX500+16-50pz. I will definitely run it into the ground and not care about it being an NX LOL!
If there is a demand, then the prices won't be going down as quick. Probably later this year towards the Xmas season, and more the following yearThese could easily slide down to $800 and less. Surprised prices are holding so firm. I'd call their bluff if in the market for NX1.
I know, id start with the 30mm for sure -- but on the sony side, i got a 16-50mm F2.8 weather sealed lens for $400 kinda expensive to replace that lens on any other system. I use 16, 24, 50mm quite a bit
Maybe come back when you actually have a chance to use the product instead of repeating marketing information? Why don't you think about the a6300? 4megapixel less, but much better ISO especially in video (NX is notoriously bad in higher ISO settings). The AF system seems amazing, but no touchscreen (a no-no for me) or joystick to select points (then, what's the point on having this, but at least you have it on auto).I know, id start with the 30mm for sure -- but on the sony side, i got a 16-50mm F2.8 weather sealed lens for $400 kinda expensive to replace that lens on any other system. Sony A77 mkii - minolta lenses
Excellent sensor and electronics, the usual bad menu, ergonomics, colour science, skin tones etc. All in all, the best seller for at least the next 2 years, or more (it depends if they will have a mkII or a7000 with touchscreen, they have to implement one, even white appliances and cars have touch screens these days).
If I had anykind of Sony lenses (that would mean that I wouldn't mind the things I mentioned above)) that would be in the top of my list.
Or maybe not.. weathersealing is such a flexible terminology, maybe the kit lens or any other lens is equally weatherproofed, I don't know, just pointing out that weathersealing can be a lot of things.I know, id start with the 30mm for sure -- but on the sony side, i got a 16-50mm F2.8 weather sealed lens for $400 kinda expensive to replace that lens on any other system. Actually, the abandoning of the market, was the best organized thing Samsung did in everything NX. They managed to keep the prices very high, until the last hour (which is now). I do not know about the last minute (which is April - May), but there aren't going to be a lot of new NX cameras around Xmas, and I hope they have stock of some cameras and lenses for future warranty claims. After those 3-5 years that they legally bound to have stock, they will put everything for "free", and then it will be a good thing for someone that will still value NX (or has a lot of lenses, with a dying camera body). If there is a demand, then the prices won't be going down as quick. They did implement something else though, "Direct Manual Focus" or DMF.Video ISO performance is actually unacceptable, and you can't choose MF point manually is the second complain I have, in every other aspect, NXs are brilliant cameras, the best modern hybrid experience around.
(Why people always do NOT read all my WORDS, all words are important). They did implement something else though, "Direct Manual Focus" or DMF.Video ISO performance is actually unacceptable, and you can't choose MF point manually is the second complain I have, in every other aspect, NXs are brilliant cameras, the best modern hybrid experience around.
It is only possible with Samsung lenses, and it is in fact manual focus with custom focus point. It seems that this is how Samsung intended their lenses to be used, for DMF same focus point as af point, MF ( switch on lense), always in center.
I hope they do not change this. Manual Focus = center, simple and good.
If manual focus with third party lenses somewhere else than center is important for you, consider Sony.

Kisaha , I know you enjoy NX, the comment was not directed very much towards you, but also others that thinks this is important for them, yes point out weakness have to do with reality, this was my point too, read again. I saw similar statement yesterday and it is not true.(Why people always do NOT read all my WORDS, all words are important). They did implement something else though, "Direct Manual Focus" or DMF.Video ISO performance is actually unacceptable, and you can't choose MF point manually is the second complain I have, in every other aspect, NXs are brilliant cameras, the best modern hybrid experience around.

As I said (multiple times), I recently bought NX500/NX1 plus a few more lenses (I had NX300 and lenses), and that means, that I really like the NX system (and I have used most of the systems around), but I have a few (a dozen actually) legacy lenses I like to use, and especially for video. To mention the weaknesses of a system has to do with truth and reality, nothing else is my intention, and I quote myself, " in every other aspect, NXs are brilliant cameras, the best modern hybrid experience around".
I try to avoid using Sony cameras (we use them mostly for cheap high speed use) because of the aforementioned reasons (ergonomics, menus, color science, blah blah), for pro video work I am using C100ii and C300.
