Which among the following 2 lens is better in terms of image sharpness and image quality.

Sigma 70-300 F/4-5.6 DG Macro

Tamron A17(AF 70-300) F/4-5.6 Di LD MACRO

I understand that both these lens are very budget lens and the image sharpness will be nothing more than average. However I would be getting it for free and got to choose among one of them.

I shall be using them on Canon 1100D for now, which I will soon upgrade to Canon 70D.

So which one should it be?

I got the Sigma because of the low price and wished I hadn't. Really soft at 300 mm.

I think the Tamron is a bit better based on this review.

comments on the same website about the Sigma match my experience.

somebody has these lens and is giving one to you?

I suppose I would pick the Tamron but you can do better by getting a refurbished 55-250STM
