The pixel shift sample is truly impressive. A quick FFT shows huge increases in maximum spatial frequencies preserved in Red and Blue layers. The difference is visible in some patches where the fine detail is contrasting primary colors, like the blush on the hydrangeas. It will make a huge difference in my macro work. in addition to having a larger FoV to provide better cropping latitude - stacking typically looses a good 30% of the image, the K-1 will get that back and get much better resolution in the chroma domain.Ricoh's Japanese site has some pixel peepable resolution images using most of the new D-FA lenses, including the now old Pixel Shift sample. The resolving power of that kit lens keeps surprising me!

Any high ISO shots ?
Anyone know how much that kit lens will be?
Around about £500 i believe.Anyone know how much that kit lens will be?
I agree. (Although I did pre-order)......
As an occasional food photographer I am really impressed by the pixel shift photo which is the only one here that looks simply amazing.
I desperately want to preorder but Ricoh keeps everything under secrecy. Give me an autofocus test, give me five great raw shots to play with ,show me some higher iso shots to help me decide.
perhaps, regarding ISO i think the D750 is better than the D810, but where the D800/10 shines is at low ISO detail from the 36MP is excellent, we still have not seen any high iso shots from the K1, and the folk that have tested have not mentioned it. I did get one response from a pro using it and he told me in his own words it SHOULD be ok. Well its a toss up, I'm still worried no high ISO shots to see thus far, that said i guess it will be good, but nothing better than 6400 ISO huge files ? i await to be proven wrong. I hope it will be excellent going by the high ISO base count, but so far its anyones guess what the ISO will look like.I don't want to be the negative guy here but none of those photos looks impressive. We do realize that this is a 36mp sensor right?
All I see are flat colored shots no mood no nothing(maybe this is my notebook's resolution fault). Surely if Ricoh wants to earn customers they have to show what this camera is Capable of.....and not just enjoying the resolution of the sensor.

Does anyone here believes that d800(not d810) with the kit lens(I don't even know those lens) couldn't take the same photos under those circumstances?
I am afraid to get over excited unfortunately.

The pixel shift feature will be very attractive for the still life photographers. MF quality indeed. The pixel shift sample is truly impressive. The term "kit lens" in this case may not be appropriate. Its the only lens. But it seems pretty good.
The eye and the heart lies, so no matter how much I want the K-1 to be good, I will wait for the tests.
