Yesterday I sold my K-5lls for "buy it now" and just ordered a K-3ll from B&H/32gig card for $744.50. Just watch another price drop in a couple of days.:-D

Congratulations! I thought the K-3 II was still over $800, they must be coming down.

Hi Mark,

The K-3II at BHPhotovideo, com was sitting at US $779 until today when it went to $727.

It is still sitting at $779 at Adorama.com.

I'm surprised you didn't sell it over on the Pentax Forums. Ebay takes a 10% cut of the final sale price, PF does not..

Curious to know what prompted to go from K5 to K3

when the iso on K3 is a tad lower than K5

AND after K1 is released! :-)

Good choice. I'm completely happy with the performance of mine (even if used only for landscape).

BTW, the k3 II body sells for $712.74 at Amazon currently.

Digging up an old debate - with a new twist. The cameras are quite different in many respects.

Pretty sure Tom has his good reasons, and ISO likely is not much of a factor. Perhaps you should just give him the opportunity to compare his experiences and weigh in based on actual use rather than raising doubts based on your assumptions.

For what its worth I'm working my way up to the top selling and buying up. When you don't have a lot of money that's the way I do it. I have seen what the K3's can do and I like what I see. I like the idea of pixel shift,I do some still life and do a lot of flora and scapes. More MP will allow me to zoom a little more as I don't have any large zooms. It's not the best way to do things but I have to play with what I'm dealt.

Umesh, I think everything was reset to default, but if you press the shutter release and nothing happens don't panic I was using back button focus.:-)

Thanks Tom, am really looking forward to the camera's arrival.... what made you sell it? you could have always kept it as a back up body... being one of the best DSLRs around? such low actuations too :)

Umesh, ever since I saw and herd about the quality of the K-3ll I wanted to upgrade. Being retired I needed to sell in order to buy:-).
