Animated woman plus 1/60 doesn't really cut it, but interesting nonetheless. Keep 'em coming; it seems that people are at the exploration stage with this lens.

I wouldn't be too happy with those, but then I wouldn't shoot such images at 60th/sec either.

Yeah, I hear ya!! It's definitely better to explore than not to explore. This is the longest telephoto I've used. It sure is different. Will definitely take some time getting used to. Happy shooting!

She's there to be photographed - you don't need to lurk across the room telephoto sneaking with your ISO too high, your exposure too low.

If you'd just walked up with a portrait lens set to mid aperture and a decently quick shutter she'd have been happy to give you her most winningest smile and sent you away with some memorable images.

Wider lens could have included the car too if you really wanted that.

Our annual auto show is just around the corner. Photographing the models is always a fun thing to do. Agree that using a wider angle lens to include the autos is also a good idea as the model and the car often complement one another.

Unfortunately the models were on a stage so, we were chained off. Unfortunately for the cars, I intentionally brought no other lenses to get used to this one. That car is apparently from the new Suicide Squad movie. I had no clue

This lens better suited to sport, wildlife in good light...

If I were in your shoes,,those shots of yours would be better served by the 50-140mm f2.8...

Very good detail in shot 4 btw...

Thanks, I got a few better ones I didn't post. The 50-140 usually is my walk around lens choice but I left it at home to get a feel for the 100-400. My arm got a feel for it, that's for sure.

The mor you use it,,the more you learn, hense higher keeper rate in the long term...

Dave...
That's what I was thinking. If I leave er at home, I'll never get used to the telephoto. Kinda wondering how the X-Pro 2 AF will suit this lens or if it won't matter all that much. This lens seems to hunt more than the 50-140 but hopefully that will improve a bit on this lens with the Pro 2.

Slightly overexposed with burned highlight (hair) plus on one a rather over powerful flash use

The boked at 5.6 on one seems to produce some CA, a thing to go deeper

The exposure at 400mm needs to be very precise since you frame on very few elements

The lens might need a -1/3 or 2/3 EV corrcetion, to be assessed on some systematic testing

I also use a 600mm (on a Nik) and find the exposure somehow a difficult exercise, quite unstable (fortunately RAW is the solution)

Cheers
