One of the nice things about this forum, is that it’s an occasion for us to meet the work of other photographs and be inspired by them.

Yesterday, someone has replied to one of my posts, wishing he could afford the lens that I had used in that post.

Out of curiosity, I gave a look at his Flickr Postfolio and was surprised to find a very talented guy that I’d like you to discover. His name is Chi Phung and he has posted only 67 messages in DPR Forums up to now.

Furong Zhen. Hunan. China (seen by 4 people so far)
Life in Thailand (seen by 8 people so far)
Fenghuang. Hunan. China (seen by 2 people so far)

Since I don't have a Facebook account, I couldn't give all the 'Likes' that I wanted but be free to do so for me... ;-)

Wow. Thank you so much for visitng my flickr page, and much appreciate your suggestion of my page to this forum.

I am an absolute beginner, only starting out this hobby in 2015. the Olympus E-P5 is my very first serious camera, I am still learning everyday, and hope to gain more knowledge about photography technique from here.

My photos are far from professional standard, just a fun hobby that I enjoy, and hope to share what I saw on my trips.

Warmest regard.

Chi Phung

Thank you for sharing these marvelous images with us that prove that a photographer's good eye, Olympus beautiful color and the 12-40's quality all combined to produce very enjoyable viewing experiences!

Can't imagine what he will produce when he's no longer a beginner!

Likeable compositions in most of the shots. I like most of those. You may be able to apply minor but effective enhancements with some post processing. Thanks for the thread.

Regards
Thank you for your comment.

I do starting to shoot raw and jpg simitanously, so with post processing, what is the general rule in regarding enhancement? I understand about noise reduction and removing chromatic aberation etc, with tonal adjustment, I use the jpg files as reference, which I assume is representative of what I saw on the location, what else should I be looking for?

Thanks again for your suggestion.

Hi Chi

I agree with the poster.. Very nice images. My wife is originally from China and her family is still there. She is from Henan Province (Guangshan County. We have visited China quite a few times. I love walking the streets with my cameras. Lots of great photographic opportunities everywhere you look. :) We will be back this summer and very much looking forward to it.

Anyhow... Keep up the good work and developing your skills.

Thanks for pointing out his work. Wonderful photos; I almost feel like I went on the trip with Chi Phung.

Thanks for the links Jean Pierre. I recall seeing a couple of these images before, perhaps in the weekly threads.

Chi has an amazingly good eye for the image and there are no shortage of drop dead beautiful images in those galleries.

A Hidden Talent too!

Your flickr link is now in my bookmark and the locations are in my to-visit bucket list - I'm from Asia and visit my relatives every 2 years.
