Is that a click/clickless switch near front dial ?

If lens barel diameter is the same :

Seems a bit thicker...

It looks like it and it is useful for switching function also as in the Olympus 1S. There is a great advantage in the facilities in these fixed lens cameras as the Panasonic GM1 with its compact 12-32 lens is not something you want to manually focus.

Shows how all these cameras have there own attributes and weaknesses. This little camera looks an interesting package.

It's disappointing that the G9 X and G5 X releases weren't timed in such a way that they could get DIGIC7 too. Those models aren't that old. (I assume that DIGIC7 means faster performance.)

I love the design. And yes, it's a shame G5X and G9X buyers didn't get the Digic 7 and are stuck with a 2-year-old processor, same as in S120.

What I don't love about this camera is the larger size, compared to the first G7X. Same lens (probably), same sensor and yet larger body. Why? Because of the tilting screen? For me personally, a tilting screen is not worth ~5mm added thickness to the body, not to mention the extra weight.

where do you see the size and weight listed as compared to the original G7X?

The current G7X already has a tilting screen!!

And largely because of the tilting screen, the current G7 X is 31% thicker than the G9 X.

I'm going to pout until the G9 X gets DIGIC7 too. :-)

Don't worry, the new screen will probably only make a difference of a mm or two, barely noticeable. That was the difference when the rx100 series went from fixed to flipping, and this is just going from one way flip to two way flip.

I'm well aware of that but I was responding to the poster who seemed to say that the mark II of the G7X is 5mm thicker than the G7X because it has a tilting screen. Which doesn't make any sense.

Wait till the dslr forums find out that the upcoming 80D is only getting the digic 6, not 7. Tho I'm not sure what their reaction will be:

I hope you're right, that would be a nice thoughtful little improvement, and a needed one if you ask me. The click wheel is so loud that it can be distracting in quiet environments. On the plus side, my dogs stare at the camera wondering what the heck the noise is!

any indications on when we will see a G7X MkII out in the shops?

I'm close to buy the (existing) G7X so perhaps I should wait a little....?

For what I see it should be ~2mm thicker.

Minor correction:

"For what I see it should be ~so minor that you wouldn't even notice unless you overlaid, measured, and weighed them."
