Interesting challenge, Bill. It forced me to go back and look through a lot of my photos from the past few years to look for examples that might fit. I rarely try to "frame" things consciously, but I suppose the subconscious takes over sometimes. Please pardon the fact that my photos sometimes look like a travelogue. It's just that, living in Minnesota, the best photo opportunities occur when I'm away from home (no offense to Minnesota).
Yes, after I Thought of the theme I had to do quite a bit of looking to come up with my samples also.
Great Shot

Entry - Looking through our bedroom window of a rental in the Provence region of France. That's my pocket trumpet I used to travel with to stay in playing shape while away from home for several weeks.

Nice shot with the grapes! And I like the "pocket trumpet " You must have some pretty big pockets :-D
Entry - One of the side-domes of St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome. The art of the oval dome being framed by the arches.

Hi Bill,

Just because I think it's more fun to enter, the second and third images are 2 of my favorite images, and with you judging, I don't think I'll win, lol.

Sincerely,

Den

Well, Dan, I don't know why you would say that as I'd choose you if I thought your photo was a winner, but .... you are right for this challenge, just cause I know you won't be able to host a new one.

The winged, man-faced bulls are Assyrian, they're in the Louvre in Paris. If you look at them closely you'll see they actually have five legs. Viewed head on they appear to be standing still with two legs visible but from the side they are portrayed asvmoving with four visible legs.

I'll have to try cloning out the walking man.

As you can see, I do look for scenes to frame subjects. Which is what I was thinking when I chose the theme but, however you interpret the theme is fine with me :-D. Afterall this is supposed to be fun and I know I can be a little anal in my challenges...which I apologize for and will not be on this challenge! Especially considering I really didn't win the last one..only 2nd place.

Morning Bill,

What i stated was really tongue in cheek, but hope you aren't so biased as to not consider my photos for other recognition just because I can't host this time. Thought these challenges were based on photographic merit.

In any case, thanks for hosting this one in my absence and keep enjoying your photography.

Regards,

Den
