"Silent shooting in continuous drive (3 fps with AF/AE)"

Does this mean no silent shooting in single shot mode? I normally shoot in AF/AE but just single shot. I'm not displeased with electronic 1st curtain shutter on my NEX6 and excuse if this has been discussed before.

I'm going to presume that there is silent shooting in single mode as well, becasue my A7R Mark II has that. I just ordered the A6300 and hope that in addition to having silent in high speed mode, it also allows silent shooting when using the Smart Remote App.

That sounds encouraging. So, how silent is silent on the A&Rii?

If anybody out there has a diagram or explanation of how this works without a physical shutter, I would really like to know. "The times they are a changin".

From Sony.net:

Silent Shooting mode releases the shutter without a sound, even in continuous shooting up to approx. 3fps with AF/AE tracking, so it's very convenient for shooting indoor performances, outdoor wildlife, and in other situations where silence is essential. To turn this mode on/off more intuitively and less intrusively, assign it to a customisable button.

So, the phrase "even in continuous shooting" certainly makes it sound as though it's available in both drive modes.

On the A7 Mark II it is totally silent and in fact the only way you know that you've taken a photo (I've got Auto Review turned off) is by seeing the red light come on showing the file is being written to the SD card.
