Hi,

I have a Panasonic GF3 and a Sony a3000, I own the Panasonic 14mm F2.5, Panasonic 25mm F1.7, Olympus 45mm F1.8 and the Panasonic 14-45mm Lens.

With the Sony a3000 I only have the kit lens.

I want to buy a Sigma 60mm F2.8 but I have not decided with format is should buy?

The m43 format gives me a 120mm reach where as the Sony e mount gives a 90mm reach.

On DXO the Sony E mount is rated higher on the e mount than on the M43 cameras.

I have not found a site that compares this lens in different formats, so I am not sure

which one to buy.

Any feedback would be welcome, especially if anybody has both the M43 and E mount lens.

Thanks

DxO increases the rating according to sensor size so the same lens on a full frame will be about twice what it would be on a crop and a crop will be better than a 4/3 and so on.

Maybe go with the system you think you are more likely to upgrade with?

It will be the same lens with the identical optics, except for the changed mount. The variance is in the sensor size and quality, plus the mag ratio of 1.5 or 2 x.

So your choice is which horse to saddle here. 4/3 or APC, that is the question.

You could put it on an Oly m4/3; I believe they have IBIS.

Thank you all for your replies. As many have recommended, since I have already similar lenses.

I have come to the conclusion that it is best not to purchase the Sigma 60mm F2.8.

Thanks again for all your replies.

The Sig60 is a great, super sharp, small, inexpensive lens. I don't use my all that much, but it is a great lens for the zoo. . .
