But geezLouise, that is some kind of move you are making!! I can't even fathom how something like that happens.
Glad to see your face around here again!

Well, in desperation I finally registered under a different name
and email address (unfortunately one that I will rarely be able to
receive email at) to be able to post here. The system obviously
knew who I was since all my information had been transferred to the
new account. I wonder if I can change my email address back to AOL
or if that will totally screw up my account again?
Anyway, I can't explain what happened earlier; I wrote to Phil
personally via email and also requested a new password on the DPR
site on Saturday from Okinawa through OCN, an ISP I've had for the
past three years, but to no avail. Then I wrote yesterday (I think
it was) from San Francisco; I'm on a dial-up connection here, so
the ISP is AOL. It's unlikely that both providers are preventing me
from receiving emails with passwords! In addition, I had the exact
same problem with The Washington Post and had to request my
password (in Okinawa); it came through within seconds. I wonder if
it had anything to do with the fact that I had requested a new
password from DPR a few months ago while I was traveling to
Okinawa's outer islands? Perhaps DPR doesn't want to issue more
than one replacement password?
Well, in any case, it's good to be back. It was extremely
frustrating not to be able to reply to threads, not that I've had
much time to do so. We are currently moving from Okinawa back to
Turkey, so are transiting San Francisco, Portland, Washington,
D.C., Tampa, Brussels, Istanbul and finally Ankara, all this with a
lot of luggage and a dog!
