Hello All,

I am looking to buy the Panasonic TZ100 when it comes out in March 2016. The camera does not have a grip or texture on it, so I have been looking around for some kind of tape that I could apply that would more or less stay in place and be more or less resistant to ambient moisture from being in the outdoors as well as to oils from my dirty hands. Something rubbery or with a texture of some kind. I have been thinking about marine tape. It looks on paper that it should work but I thought I would ask if anyone else has some suggestions or experience.

Thanks in advance,

Look at spray on contact adhesive (Hi-Tack 76, Super 77 by 3M or similar). Then you can use whatever material you like. You can apply it in a temporary or more permanent fashion.

Hi-Tack 76 is more forgiving for temporary bonds. Super 77 only has a 15 second working window for applying temporary bonds. It is much wider (minutes) for permanent bonds.

There is also some kind of moldable plastic that people use for making grips on their tiny cameras. Can't remember what it is called though. Ask in the m43 and other small format forums.

I just ordered some from England to try it out on various things it may be useful on, not necessarily photographic
I hope you will let us know how that goes :)

Well it arrived ok but I have not yet used it, nothing to "fix" as yet.

I did notice it only has a 6 month useby life, unless stored in the fridge then it's life can be tripled, so don't buy too much at once and store it cool.

I have used Sugru for all sorts of projects and it is one of the very best inventions of all time. Well worth buying, it truly is. And yes - it could have been invented for making camera grips.
