Here is my wish list,

-electronic shutter, or silent leaf shutter.

-min shutter speed in auto iso extended up to 1/500.

-better hand grip

-magnesium alloy body

I could pay a few hundred dollars more for those features. I know I can get a x-e2 or x-t10 instead but none of them is as compact as the x-a1 line and I don`t really like the x-trans gimmick. what do the other x-a1, x-a2 users think?

X-A1 owner checking in. Love this camera, but there are a few things nudging me towards the X-T line (besides a viewfinder). If they could fix these in the X-A3 I think I would stay.

Better rear dial. I don't know if it's too soft, or if it's just the position, but I am always bumping it with my thumb, and it throws off my exposure. Using XF lenses with aperture rings negates this for shooting in A and M modes.

More function buttons/ability to remap labeled buttons. Would love to be able to simultaneously have buttons for AE-AF lock, preview DOF, and ISO. But there is only 1 Fn button on my camera and it can only be mapped to one of those at a time. Meanwhile I never touch the movie or macro buttons.

More bracketing options. Give me EV bracketing to +/-2 (or even 3), and DR bracketing.

I really liked my X-A1 except, in my case, the lack of a viewfinder was a deal breaker because I need my reading glasses to use any LCD but, no need for glasses with viewfinders. Plus, I've had nine digital cameras, three smartphones, and two tablets, and in spite of all the manufacturer's claims, out in bright sunlight, their LCD's were either totally unusable or barely usable; including the X-A1.

So I would seriously consider an X-A3 if Fuji stuck a viewfinder in it. I would have no problem trading the pop-up flash for a small high quality EVF in its place even though the body might have to be slightly taller. That's what Panasonic did with the GM5. They removed the pop-up flash that the GM1 had, made the GM5 a little taller, put a hot-shoe on, and included a small kit flash.

Even if they made it slightly taller, with the 18/2 or the 27/2.8, the X-A3 would make a wonderful pocketable option to the X-100T.

TOUCH SCREEN!!! Please, please add a touch screen with touch focus and touch shooting. Make it so that it can be disabled for those who are philosophically opposed, but making this camera without a touch screen is pointless. I had an X-A1 and liked everything except the lack of this feature and the fact that you couldn't assign the 4 way controller to move the focus point. The combination made the camera too slow for everything but my fisheye (which is manual focus). Slap these 2 features in the A3 and I'm back in.

I find the viewfinder comments a little odd, the X-A range specifically doesn't have one and the benefit is the smaller size. The X-E range already exists to fulfill the compact body/viewfinder niche.

I love my X-A2, I guess in an X-A3 I would just like functionality from the X-T10/1 to trickle down, i.e. electronic shutter.

Yes, electronic shutter would be good. Also, I don't know if the 2 had expanded auto ISO settings, but the 1 had a maximum shutter speed setting of 1/125, which was okay, but 1/250 would be better.

Also, agreed about the VF comments. Not what this product is. If you want a VF, there is the XE line.

And if we can go into fantasy land, add IBIS. Not going to happen, but if it had the items above, IBIS, and a touch screen, I would without doubt buy it to complement my XT1.

Fuji's new higher-end sensor and processor that's coming in all of the other X cameras... but then, that would be an X-M2 (or 3) with X-Trans, wouldn't it? ;)
