This thread is being launched before the previous one is full.

Please continue to post COMMENTS and REPLIES to any thread but when a newer one has been launched, post all new photographs to that.

It makes sense if you’ve posted a picture in an earlier thread that there's still room for you to receive a comment on it later in the week.

It also prevents tail-enders in earlier threads getting no comments at all because the thread they posted to is full.
  • Please reply to my original post when posting your own pictures.
  • That’s reply to my ORIGINAL POST when posting your own pictures.
  • Give your reply a title.
  • Keep it polite.
  • First thread kicks off Saturday morning (UK time).
  • Don’t add any photos after my ‘POST NO MORE PICS’ message (see below).
  • Newbies encouraged, any standard.
  • Avoid wasting thread space with replies such as “Thanks n/t”
  • Photographs do not have to have been taken this week.
  • Images are often more impressive when viewed large.
  • Posting here implies you’re happy to receive a critique of your work.
  • You can post links to external websites but most people in here will ignore them.
  • Apologies if I don't reply to everyone. This thread is becoming more and more popular and therefore more time-consuming. So…
  • PLEASE TRY TO COMMENT ON SOME OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK. That includes YOU newbies…it helps to take the strain off of me a little.

I think it won't be too long before you depart these shores...
I like the last and think it was a good decision not to try to straighten the verticals. I like the giddiness it implies.

Interesting shot. I think I might like a closer view!

The thread does seem to have been bowling along really quickly over the holidays - I guess people have had more time on their hands!

I think I prefer the original bridge pier shot to the first here. The second is rather nice too, but I find the foreground doesn't add anything. These Sony shots do have a lovely look to them.

Recently shot while meandering in the area of the Burj Khalifa early evening.

Looks better when opened up, not sure why images look so soft in-thread.

Fascinating set. I like the abstract colours of #2. The series of the process are interesting too. Did you do a tour or just turn up?
It was a tour organised by the hotel. But I'm sure they see it as a sales opportunity if you were to just turn up.

The first looks nice without the flames. Maybe crop some of the water? It was actually a building that caught my eye when I was there. Good shot of the BK too. I regret not taking a decent camera when I went but it was in a bit of a fallow period for me.

I have to admit I have never seen a Volkswagen like the red one you have here! Looks more like a Ghia than a VW. Right hand drive. Must never have made it to N.A. At first I thought it was a supped up Corvair!

Andrew
It's a Type 34 Karmann Ghia which I don't think was officially available in the states. Absolutely stunning cars which looks great in the photo.

Big fan of the second photo, you've brought out some interesting patterns in the water and I like the play of the lights in the skyline.

I always liked the ornate quality of those lamp posts along the river. I can't recall if I ever saw people fishing from the Thames. I see people fishing from the Hudson River and even the Central Park Lake. I don't know if anything is safe to consume from urban waterways.
People do fish and the water is allegedly very clean - pay your money and make your choice. I prefer my water out of a bottle.

The lamp posts are exceptionally beautiful - they line the river for miles too.

You are showing the relevance of UWA in cities very well. I like the last very much.

So is this what you will be doing stably, renting some top-line gear when there is a long holiday at the rental houses and keep using M43 the rest of the time?
