Hi,

I really were impressed by some panorama shots which crossed my way. Especially from a well known Photographer here, Philip Plisson, who is an amazing sea photographer. Very comercial stuff but I like it. I downloaded a couple of helping progs but finally found out that my comp came with a program, Panorama Maker, which is really easy to use. I did my first try this afternoon. Went down to the wild coast, took four shots hand held, adjusted them some in loved PS7 and finished it in Panorama Maker. It would be nice to see some panoramas from you great photographers here.

Hi Rainer,

Do you find it hard to align photos when you take the panoramas handheld? I just ordered a panorama head because I am tired of doing all adjustments in PS because things don't match.

can Panorama factory do photos in row as well as in line? I like to make panorama made of 4 or 6 images in format of 2 x 2 or 2 x 3 etc...not always 1 x 4, all in line. Not every pano software support this so I was wondering if Panorama Farcoty can do this?

Nice panorama BTW....reminds me of the California coast.

Daniella, first of all, awesome panorama you did there. As for the prog, I don't use Panorama Factory but Panorama Maker and it can do all the things you asked for. I just tried it out a couple of times and only in horizontal alignements. I do the adjustements of my several pics in PS first so afterwards I just have to work a little on the overlaps and the panorama program has a good function for this.

I think a kiwi will help but also that we should try do such photos hand, for me at least, as my tripod is not always with me but my cam never leaves me

Here are a couple from Panama.

This one is Panama City, at night. I think it was 7 photos. Early work of mine using panorama tools.

I do them handheld now but it never fits and I am tired of spending hours in PS to assemble them. If you have too much distortion, the final image will be a bit blurred in some parts because fixing the distortion also looses detail and make things blurry. Mostly, my reasons for making panorama is to have a very high res photo, up to 20mp in size but I want to keep a good quality throughout the pic.

If you do a lot of panoramas, it takes a very long time to stitch them all and fix them all. I use to spend days working on them. Now with a pano head, thing align so perfectly that you basicaly just overlap them and snap some control points and voilà!

A panorama head is a good tool only if you do a lot of panoramas.

Thanks Danno,

It is one of my favorite but for some reason, people don't like it much usualy. I guess it's the type of photo that you either like or hate :)
Daniella-
That is an awesome, very elegant panorama. I think its the nicest
I've ever seen!

This was completely done with my 3 dollar panohead. :)

However, I've progressed to panohead plus handheld. The balboa one is...15 or 16 photos if I can remember..
If you save that photo and stick it in ptviewer the distortion dissappears..
