Just got my new E-20(P) and was wondering if anyone has any links to some good sites or articles, particularly on photoshop stuff relating to digi photography.

PS: opened the manual to figure out how to use the camera and %@$#!!!

The manual was in japanese. Had to download the manual from the website. Quite annoying :(

Hi Dennis

Welcome to the forum.

Here's a long list of Photoshop/Imaging links:

Didn't you get a manual on CD with your E-20?

Best regards

Quite strange the manual is in Japanese, excepting of course that the camera is possibly grey-market. In which case I'd assume, as Vance has already pointed out, that if your camera came with a warranty, that it may as well be in Swahili too, for all the good it will do you.

Anyway, here's a great site on the Exx as well as the use of various convertor lenses;

thanx for the links

and btw im in australia so the "P" version is the normal version here not the N... i just mentioned that it was P in the post cause im wondering if anyone else who gets the P version in their country also had the problem. The warranty card and stuff all look fine.

Vance,

I had the same issue with my E20P I purchased in Australia. I think the English manual only comes with the E20N. But heck I could be wrong.

Renard
it sounds to me like you got a grey market camera.

Not bad news, provided you don't have any problems later on and
need warranty work.

But then, I'm also not sure how the E20 is packaged, and I could be
wrong. Which, like my title says... I hope I am wrong. :o)

As Japan uses the NTSC video format, it seems strange that an E20(P) would have a japanese manual. Is it definitley a P version - have you tried it connected to your TV ? The P versions in the UK are supplied with only a basic printed manual in English. For the full manual you have to use the CD which should have been supplied in the kit.

Here is a link to a page at the Luminious Landscape (an excellent site in general) called "Instant Photoshop".... it describes a good basic work flow for producing photographs in Photoshop.

Cheers,
Scott

Havent connected it yet, but since someone else said that their australian model came the same way, ill assume its some wierd thing with olys distributer here. It does say E20P on the box but no such markings on the camera...

If I am not mistaken, there are actually 3 versions of the E20. The E20P, the E20N, and the plain E20.

Of course, the N and P denote NTSC and PAL, but the E20 withot a letter at the end is the Japanese model. What makes it any different from an E20N I do not know. But there is a plain E20 model series and it is supposed to be sold only in Japan.
