Has anyone had this happen? I was suddenly getting a black fuzzy line at the bottom of my frame at 100th of a second, shooting with my Speedlite 580exii off camera, and a Speedlite transmitter ST-e2. When I went up to 125th of a second the black line covered half the frame. When I went to an 80th or slower the black line went away.

The weird thing is that when I changed all the batteries in the flash and transmitter the problem went away completely. Is this a camera problem, a flash problem, or a transmitter problem?? And should I be worried!!??

Sounds like a battery problem to be honest. I've had very strange things happen when the batteries are nearly dead. I have not experienced what you are describing. Don't have a transmitter. I remember that in the olden days cheap film cameras wouldn't sync faster than 1/60th. Just throwing in a useless fact. Good luck, but I'd say it was the batteries, since that is what fixed it.
